Thanks so much for your thoughts Katharine and I certainly don't disagree. My primary point is that we, as a country, are choosing a side based on our own personal narrative. Most of us do nothing at all to challenge these beliefs so we respond to issues and events based solely on our narrative and not on the right/wrong or "truth" of it.

Truth used to be somewhat of an absolute thing but now there is no truth anymore as each person chooses what they want to believe and that becomes their truth.

That's how we can have 1/2 of the country believe that immigrants are eating dogs and cats despite every legitimate source telling us otherwise.

Once you drink the kool-aid, there is no going back.
